After being postponed due to a European procedure requiring the evaluation of the standard by the European Accreditation Forum, version 7 of the IFS Food (International Featured Standard) was published on Tuesday 6 October. Emphasis is placed on evaluating the product/process coupling and taking into account the Food Safety Sanitary Culture. In addition, the audit protocol will be restructured to support the field audit.
Evaluations under the new protocol can be carried out from 1 March 2021, while the V6.1 version can be applied in parallel. From 1 July 2021, the audits will be carried out according to the new version only.
